A wealth of opportunities are available for those that have a desire to partner with us in ministry. Since becoming a Strategic Ministry Centre two years ago, so many new doors of ministry have opened up to us.
Some opportunities that have recently opened up are in the following areas: ministry to migrant workers and refugees, working with street people (see Kawan ministry) and family/counseling ministries.
From short term volunteer work to longer staff commitments, we are eager to have you join with us. We here at YWAM Penang also enjoy hosting outreach teams as well.
We have a myriad of opportunities available for teams while also being able to provide assistance in networking with other local ministries.
Kairos – A divinely appointed moment in time.
God spoke to YWAM Penang 10 years ago to pray for a Malaysian Missions Movement. That time is now upon us. Malaysia’s kairos moment is now.
There is a call of God on Malaysians to disciple the people of Southeast Asia. Malaysians are uniquely equipped by God, culturally, linguistically and ethnically to reach 60% of the world’s unreached peoples in India, China and Indonesia.
On top of that, God has brought the nations of Asia to Malaysia to be discipled. There are currently at least 2.5 million migrant workers in Malaysia. By 2010, it is projected that there will be 5 million migrant workers in the nation, compiling approximately 1/6 of Malaysia’s total population.
Where are they all from? Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand and more. Among them are many of the least reached and unreached peoples of Asia.
No other Asian nation in this region is receiving such a large population of migrant workers. Why? God has given an amazing opportunity to YWAM Malaysia and to the Malaysian church to not only reach Asia for Christ and to see these migrants saved personally, but to disciple these nations by strategically praying for and equipping these new believers to start church planting movements upon their return to their nation of origin.
Disappointed by HopeMalaysia is a country of refuge for tribes and nations from all over the world. However, despite their longing for a better country, migrant workers and refugees have not found an easy life. Malaysia’s laws, policies, and practices create an environment of vulnerability…Click to read the whole article and/or order the booklet Permata Project Jesus spoke with sex workers… and we want to follow Him, right? Our desire is to see these ladies find true love, true acceptance and true freedom. The only way out of their darkness is Jesus Christ. He is the one who can heal their brokenness and who can renew their mind. more School of Frontier Missions
