The SoFM field assignment enables students to acquire practical skills necessary for effective cross-cultural ministry. Following the completion of the Lecture Phase students go as part of a team into the mission field for 9 months of learning the following:

• Language study of the host language
• Survival skills
• To understand the target people in order to share the gospel more effectively
• Team missions skills
• Exploration of long term ministry opportunities amongst host people

SoFM Penang staff will meet with students in the field and upon return to Malaysia to debrief their field assignment. Together with their sending churches, we will strategize with, pray for, and send these students into long-term cross-cultural missions.
