The Evangelism Training School

The Evangelism Training School (ETS) is a 24-week course designed to empower students, especially Asians, in the skill of sharing their faith. Because this skill is more caught than taught, students can expect to practice, debrief, receive feedback, and refine their evangelistic skills as a daily routine in a live/learn mentoring environment where they will be surrounded by the lost.

The course is divided up into five seminars, each containing both a training and outreach component:

  1. Cross-Cultural Evangelism in Asia (June 25-July 25, 2008)-2 weeks of missions training (includes 4 days of participation in Go Fest Asia in Singapore) and a 2-week overseas outreach China. (4 weeks)
    Note:This seminar has been canceled.
  2. Personal Evangelism (July 28-August 23, 2008)-2 weeks of evangelistic training and a 1-week local outreach on the streets, in malls, and to college students here in Penang. (3 weeks)
  3. Apostolic Evangelism (August 25-October 7, 2008)-3 weeks of training in contextualized church planting and a 3-week outreach in our capital city, Kuala Lumpur. (6 weeks)
  4. Urban Evangelism (October 13-November 9, 2008)-2 weeks of training in specialized ministries among the poor and migrants and a 2-week local outreach to the poor and migrants in Penang and Ipoh. (4 weeks)
  5. Championing Youth as Evangelists (November 11-December 7, 2008)-1 week of youth ministry training and 3 weeks of conducting a Mission Adventure Camp in East Malaysia. (4 weeks)

While students graduating from the school must be involved in all five seminars, the course is also open to guests interested in participating in and receiving credit for one of the seminars. If you want to move beyond talking about evangelism and become someone who shares your faith as a lifestyle in a very powerful, accurate, culturally relevant, and loving way in Asia, then this school is for you.
